What is the best way to get a loved ones name tattooed on you?

I want to get a tattoo on my back by my shoulder and I want to get a flower or something with my moms name and my grandmas name. I'm not sure if it would be better to have their actual names, Melody and Brenda or use Mom and Grandma? Does anyone have any previous experience with this and tell what would look best and make the most sense? Thanks.
